Delete your account and data

Checo is provided by ZAFE GmbH. You can delete your Checo account and all associated data at any time — either directly in the app or, if you no longer have access to the app, by email request. Both options result in the permanent deletion of your account.

Option 1: Delete in the app

  1. Open Checo and sign in.
  2. Go to Profile.
  3. Select “Delete account”.
  4. Re-authenticate briefly to confirm your identity (password or Google/Apple).
  5. Confirm the deletion — your account and data will be removed.

Option 2: Request deletion by email

If you no longer have the app installed, send a deletion request to datenschutz@zafe.at.

Please include:

  • the email address of your Checo account (or the Google/Apple login you used),
  • the subject “Delete account (Checo)”.

We usually process requests within 30 days and confirm the deletion by email. We may ask follow-up questions to verify your identity.

What data is deleted?

  • your user account and login credentials,
  • your profile (e.g. name),
  • your shopping lists and their contents,
  • your saved cards,
  • your associations with shared lists,
  • your app settings.

For technical reasons, copies may remain in encrypted backups for up to 30 days and are then automatically overwritten. Statutory retention obligations (e.g. tax or commercial law) remain unaffected.

Note on paid subscriptions

An active Premium subscription is managed through your App Store (Apple) or Google Play. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel a running subscription. Please also cancel it in the subscription settings of your App Store or Google Play account.
